Research proposal:
Computer Game Use in Calgary Area Schools
Research Proposal (50%)
For this assignment you will be asked to complete a research proposal. The proposal should include an introduction, brief literature review, a clear research question or hypothesis, a methodology section, a description of your data analysis procedure and any anticipate limitations. Each student will be asked to prepare a concise 5-minute class presentation highlighting the key components of their research project. As this assignment is viewed as an opportunity to integrate much of the content of the course greater detail regarding this assignment will be presented in class.
Survey area schools (CBE, RockyView, Foothills, Catholic) to see if & who is using computer games in the classroom.
The survey would seek to discover:
- who uses computer games in the classroom
- are they COTS (Commercial off the shelf)
- specifically targeted educational games (commercial or other)
- what facilitated their use (principal, system, special funding, self)
- who doesn't
- would not even consider it
- what would it take to consider it / try one
