One of the kids in the class was even a grade 9 student taking grade 10 English to get ahead (can you guess which one?).

Anyhow, this is the poem I gave my teacher:

Yea, though the bush burneth amongst the oak trees,
Let not the cookie crumble into the sea,
Thus making a mockery of the turnip,
Who ate the dwarf.

My teacher found deep and profound symbolism in this poem, which I found very amusing, seeing as how I knew for a fact that my brother had written it late one night in a drunken stupor. The poem was the drunken rambling of a teenage kid trying to make his similarly drunken friends laugh.

Perhaps the lesson to take away from these is:

Intelligence Is Believing Only Half Of What You Hear; Brilliance Is Knowing Which Half.

Unfortunately, when we are in school, we rarely have the option of questioning our teachers.

Be the first to like.

Like

Unlike

Approximate Reading Time: 2 minutesI Can’t Answer These Texas Standardized Test Questions About My Own Poems | The Huffington Post Source: I Can’t Answer These Texas Standardized Test Questions About My Own Poems | The Huffington Post This is an example of the actual author … Continue reading →

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3,9,352,369,373,24
126,387
post-6378","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-academia","category-educational-technology","category-gamification-2","category-higher-education","category-students","category-teaching-learning","tag-gamification","tag-gamification-101
https://minkhollow.ca/beckerblog/2015/07/20/8-part-series-on-gamification-as-reigeluths-post-industrial-paradigm-of-instruction-part-8/
And so, we come to the last part: Enjoyable vs Unpleasant Students deserve transparency in the way they are to be assessed.
