ENGR 1271 Writing Assignment 1
Note that there are 4 parts to this first assignment set:

Part 1
Worth 3%
- Read Chapters 1 and 2 of your text.
- Choose one of the following papers or articles, read it through, and answer the following questions:
- Who is the intended audience?
- Provide a 2-3 sentence summary of the article.
- How does the author use technical terminology?
- Is it appropriate for the audience?
- Are explanations or definitions given where they seem called for?
- Are there any examples of unnecessary jargon? (list them and state what words or phrases could have been used instead)
- Formulate your response as an informal report no more than 2 pages long, save it as a Word or OpenOffice document, and submit it using Mahara.
